The Couponing Rule: How to Use Discount Coupons Effectively!

Couponing is a tool for saving money early!  Save for your holidays even though you didn’t plan yet but you can pack and go anytime soon with couponing. Shifting on coupon style shopping can be difficult and troublesome with the bulk of coupons and deals options around you.  So, to help you out, we've created a roadmap of goal lines that anyone can follow to make sure if he is meeting the right financial goals by using discount coupons. You can save even more! In order to be able to use your coupons at the grocery store without spending a lot of time rummaging around looking for what you need, just organize your coupon binder or file in a way that allows you easy access to them.

Organize Coupon File

Many of us have more time than money, so invest your time wisely. Once you invest a bit of that time in setting this system up, you’ll find it so much easier to find and use your coupons. That’s the important part, if you couldn’t use time properly then you will find saving money is a difficult task either.

You can file your coupons by date and name and when you are ready to use them, you can go to the specific folder and pull out the ones you need and get your discounts.  Be sure to file them spine side out, if you look closely at the spine on each insert you will see the date, in case you ever need to know if they are misplaced.

•    Decide what are the main categories

If you want to save time while grocery shopping, so spend some time upfront organizing your coupons. Divide your coupons into major categories like Grocery, Clothing, Travel, and Entertainment and so on.  You can file them separated by a page and either stapled or paper clipped together. Then you will either the paper clip or staple each coupon stack by stapling or paper clipping each coupon, being sure to never staple through the date, bar code, or return address.

•    Sub categories you want to use

You can make your sub-categories whatever it is that you buy.  I don’t buy breakfast cereal, but maybe you do, so your main category would be “Breakfast” and then sub-categories for whatever “breakfast” things you want to buy.

•    Cut enough card stock and label your divider with main category

At this point alphabetize your dividers.  Cut the enough stock of cards into the small size to Label each section with the proper name. Like, might be you can place first Baking items then Canned Food and so on. You can alphabetize your dividers within your main categories and further subcategories.

•    Insert Divider

Insert your dividers into your coupon folder and add every coupon in the appropriate section. You can file them separated by a page and either stapled or paper clipped together, Then you will either paper clip or staple each coupon stack by stapling or paper clipping each coupon, being sure to never staple through the date, bar code, or return address.

Now you are ready to shop. Good Luck for your Shopping trip!
